Add A Touch Of Warmth With A Rug From Toons

If you have laminate flooring in your home, or maybe even tiles or lino, you'll already be feeling the effects of the cooler weather on your feet. It seems unreasonable to switch between carpet and hard flooring just for the season. So why not look at the next best thing? A good quality, warming rug.

Warm Under Foot

In the cooler months, we find ourselves seeking heat wherever possible. In some cases, this is ramping the heating up as high as possible. For others, it's throwing a few extra logs on the fire. Maybe you simply add a few extra layers and fluffy slippers. How about breaking up that hard floor with an extra-large rug.
While hard flooring such as hardwood and tiles are a great and attractive look, not to mention easy to clean especially with muddy footprints around, they aren't well known for helping maintain the heat in a room. Rugs make for a heat source of heat maintenance, that can be taken up and stored away in the height of summer.

High Foor Traffic

For some homes, the thought of adding a rug in the winter can be a touch daunting. If you have a high traffic room, or family members who like to trail a lot of mud in on their shoes (there's always one) then you might question how you can get away with a rug. Simple. Low pile and heavy patterns.
The lower pile offers fewer places for the mud and damp to embed itself in (we still recommend trying to get them to take shoes off!). While the busy patterns can help to hide any dirty marks before you have a chance to get the hoover out.
You may want to consider a runner in your hallway that fits this style of rug, as this will reduce the chance of damp and dirt entering any of your other rooms, meaning you can have your choice of any rug in those.
