What Budget Do You Have?

The first thing that you should consider in any large purchase is how much you’re willing to spend. By working out a budget in advance of the purchase, it will prevent you from spending too much and feeling guilty thereafter. Not only that, but it should make the decision making process easier as you can filter through the different options much easier.

The last thing that you want is to reach the end of the purchasing process, only to realise that your dream bed is twice the price you had anticipated. The one thing that we would suggest factoring into your budget considerations is that a bed is an investment, and therefore something worth spending that little extra money on.

What Sized Bed Do You Need?

Once you have agreed on a budget, it’s time to start thinking about what sized bed you will need. There are a number of things worth considering for this but here are a few of the most important:

How Many People is it For? - This is really important as it can be the deciding factor on whether you need a single bed or a double. If you’re sleeping on your own, it may be worth saving some money and space by investing in a single bed. However, if you live with your partner, or you regularly have them over, it’s recommended that you would at least invest in a double bed.

How Do You Sleep? - The next consideration is based on how you or your partner sleeps. If you or your partner is a restless sleeper, having more space available will prevent you from disturbing each other in the night. In cases like these, a King Size may be required. This doesn’t just apply to those with partners either. If you sleep alone but you’re forever tossing and turning in the night, a single bed may not be enough space for you either.

How Much Space Is Available? - The final consideration concerns how much space you actually have in the bedroom. If space is tight in the room, you may have no choice but to settle for a single or double bed. However, if you have a lot of space to play with, a King Size bed may be a great way to fill the room.

Metal Frame vs Wooden Frame vs Divan

The next thing to ask yourself is whether you would prefer a divan bed, or a wooden/metal bed frame. Each comes with different benefits and so it’s truly dependent on what you value the most. If you’re constantly struggling for new storage for your clothes, laundry and towels, a divan’s built in storage may be perfect.

Alternatively, if you’re looking to achieve a more traditional aesthetic, wooden and metal bed frames can more than suffice. Metal bed frames tend to be more durable, easier to clean and come in a wider variety of colours. Wooden bed frames tend to be much less prone to squeaking, the more sustainable option and more elegant in design. Move Onto the Mattress
