Don't Put Up With Bad Beds

Struggling with a bad back? Did you know your bed could be the culprit?
On average a person spends 7-8 hours of each 24 hour day in bed, so it's essential that you choose a bed that is best suited to your needs. If you're sleeping on a bed that doesn't offer the right support for your weight, posture or existing back problems it can aggravate your back, leading to discomfort and pain.

Bad Bed Warning Signs

It's easy to have a 'make-do' attitude when it comes to our beds. But the back problems that this can cause and inflame make this a decision that could come back to haunt you. If you're uncomfortable in your bed or wake up with pain, then you should definitely look into getting a new bed.
There are a number of other warning signs to show that it's time to invest in a new bed including:
Being able to feel the springs through the surface of the mattress
Having the mattress longer than the recommended 8 years
Soft, rolling edges when you roll towards them
These factors on their own should be sure-fire indicators that it's time to retire your current mattress. But if you have more than one, it's time to hotfoot over to our Derbyshire showroom!

Bad Bed Consequences

Are you sitting at your desk at work, having to turn your whole body to talk to someone? Are you taking more pain relief and rubbing your back more often? These are just a couple of the consequences of having a bad bed.
A bed that once offered you the perfect support, won't do forever. Over time as your bed starts to wear out, you can start to notice twinges in your neck. For the most, they disappear pretty quickly. However, the longer you sleep on your worn-out mattress the longer you will notice the pain sticking around.
Over time, your uncomfortable mattress can actually start to cause more permanent damage and pain to your neck and spine. Repeatedly sleeping in unsafe positions to try and be comfortable can lead to your spine bending and twisting.
If you have noticed this, first of all, grab yourself a new mattress. Secondly, head over to see a chiropractor to make sure you're all aligned!

Mattresses Fit For Royalty

Finding the perfect mattress for your needs helps you to sleep like royalty. With all the support in the right places, the right pressure where you need it, and of course, and soft or firm as you like.
There is no one style that suits all where mattresses are concerned. And while yes, you get what you pay for is pretty accurate with mattresses, paying more for the wrong mattress is worse than buying a cheaper one that's right for you.
Firmer mattresses have long been known to be better for bad backs. However, this isn't the case for everyone. Your weight would need to be considered when you choose a firm mattress. The smaller you are the less your mattress will be able to form to your shape. Meaning you will need to consider a medium mattress. This is the same principle when choosing a child's mattress.
It may be worth considering an orthopaedic mattress if you do suffer from back issues.
If you need assistance with choosing your mattress, pop into our showroom where we have a selection available for you to test the firmness for yourself.
