Toons Top Tips For Using Patterns

Over the years, patterns have come and gone, with very few sticking around more than a few years at a time. So for many, this makes the use of patterns a daunting task.
However! Many of us absolutely love a pattern, and here at Toon's, we encourage our customers to use patterns in their homes. So here are a few top tips on how to use them effectively.

Patterned Curtains

Curtains are one of the most overlooked features when people are considering making changes to a room. They can transform the whole appearance of a room, without the need for a paintbrush, and whether they are drawn or open, they can certainly make a statement when you add some patterns.
By incorporating bold patterns into your curtain choice, you have the ability to increase their presence with how they are displayed. For example, to have them open, yet hanging straight down, you can still clearly see the pattern, while they frame the window (or door), however, if you include a tie-back, but plush out the top half, you can increase the presence of the pattern.

Patterned Carpets

One of the more permanent additions of pattern you can make to your room is the addition of a patterned carpet. If you are considering this route, we recommend fewer patterns in the rest of the room as it can become overwhelming, even if you love patterns.
This means opting for plain coloured walls, that nicely complement the colours in the carpet. You can consider investing in curtains that match your patterned carpet to draw the pattern up and into the room.
If you have a larger room and think that a patterned carpet might actually be too much, we recommend that you absolutely go for it! You can split the pattern up with a patterned rug Tamworth.

Patterned Sofas

Patterned sofas have a very divided following. You have those that love a bold pattern on their sofa, as it represents them as a person or family. Those who like intricate patterns as they hide potential staining. And those who think that pattern looks too fussy on a sofa, and would prefer a simple plain finish.
Patterned sofas are a nice yet classy way to add a print to your room, where you can have it as in your face or as in the background as you like. We love the bold print on the Longridge sofa.

Patterned Cushions

Of all the patterned items you can have in your home, the easiest to change is your cushions. You can change them as and when you like, while still in keeping with your colour scheme.
As patterns come and go out of style so quickly, introducing patterned cushions to your home is a quick as simple way to update your patterns without the expense of redecorating, or new furniture. Most patterns are available in a variety of colours, meaning that you get to keep your existing colours, just with a different pattern.

If you are interested in any of our prints, we recommend that you come and take a look in our showroom. This offers you the chance to see the pattern, in the right colours, without the distortion of a screen. You can also speak to a member of our knowledgeable team who will be happy to assist you.
