Summer Curtains 2022

While you might think that curtains are only a small feature in a room, they can actually have one of the biggest impacts, not only in style but in warmth and colour too. So how can swapping your curtains this summer impact your room?

Summer Warmth

In the UK, the weather can be unpredictable. One year we can have glorious sunshine, the next summer we see the most rain on record. But when we do have those scorching days, there's nothing worse than heading back inside to an equally hot house. Swapping out your thick winter curtains for light-coloured, thinner summer curtains can make a big difference.
To help keep a room cooler in the summer, drawing light curtains helps to stop the heat from the sun on the window. Making sure they are thin can still allow for a breeze.

Summer Colours

It's not all about how thick or thin your curtains are in the summer. The colour can have a big impact on the heat in the room. While we understand having blackout curtains in the bedroom, particularly in the summer when the sunrise is far too early to wake up, it's important to know that they do not need to be dark to be blackout! You also don't need to consider blackout in the lounge.
While we typically associate summer colours with bright and bold colours, this isn't always the case, especially when we are talking about the decor of our rooms. We need to be thinking of lighter and calm colours, such as pastel colours and creams.

Made To Measure

We know that swapping out the curtains in your home can make a big difference. This means that whichever curtains you decide to go for need to be not only the perfect colour or pattern but also the perfect fit. With some windows, or doors, we know that this can be somewhat of a challenge. This is why we offer a made to measure service.
Our free measuring and planning service can help to ensure that the curtains you have this summer are perfect, and will withstand the test of time, including being swapped for winter curtains in the autumn.
