Sofa Shopping for the Busy Home

Whether you have a big family, a number of furry household members, or you have a number of guests coming and going, you'll want a sofa that will be able to withstand the hustle and bustle.

Sofas for the big family

No matter how much of a close knit family you may be, there will always be that need for your own space on the sofa. So if you have a smaller room, or a large open plan space, you'll be looking for a seat for everyone. And no the floor doesn't count!
Larger spaces open up the ability to have a larger seat each, whether this is having multiple comfy armchairs, big lavish sofas, or recliners all round, the options are vast. Many of the sofas we offer here at Toons have multiple sizing options, meaning instead of a small sofa, you can opt for the large sofa, giving you each that extra space.
Smaller spaces and larger families are always a bit more tricky. Many rooms allow for a corner sofa to fit into the space, these great sofas allow for more seats in a smaller space. As with the larger spaces, a number of sofas are available in other sizes, so you may be able to increase a two seater with a chair to a three seater, saving you some valuable space.

Sofas for the furry family

No matter if you're a cat lover, a dog lover, or even a hamster, we can all agree that the furry members in our family are the most important. So why not take them into consideration when choosing your sofa.
The biggest pet peeve (excuse the pun!) when it comes to pet friendly sofas is the material. Soft fabrics are easily snagged (or used as a scratching post) while leather is often scratched almost immediately with a stray claw. While we know they dont mean it, it can make you want to deny them that soft seat.
If pets are the main consideration, many people opt for a tight weave fabric, reducing the space a claw can find its way into, and the chance of any visible scratches.
Don't forget to choose a sofa or chair with enough space! Many of us have ended up sitting on the floor while the dog spreads out across the sofa.

Space for the guests

Busy homes always need the extra few spaces for those guests that come and go. Many homes have that "guest sofa", that's the one that's always made up perfectly with straight cushions and smoothed out seats, not the one you slob out on while watching the TV, with the imprints embedded in. Why not make this the design sofa? Many collections have the option for a patterned fabric, make the most of the guest chair and use it as a focal point.

Having guests that are staying over but haven't got a spare room? Fear not, the trusty sofa bed is still available!
