Refurbishment Update
14th July 2009
The refurbishment has taken longer than we thought - isn't that always the way when you get the builders in ? Now, however, completion is imminent, and our grand unveiling will take place on Saturday, 25 July. We hope to make an occasion of it, and will be giving away prizes all day, so come down, have a look, and you might go away with something you weren't expecting.
As I write, the 'new' areas in the upstairs and downstairs showrooms are carpetted, decorated, wiring's been done, we're just waiting for the lamps that were supposed to come last week. The foyer still has some carpetting left to do, but is very close to finished. The changes in the Curtain Department, necessary because of their new windows, hasn't been started - but I have been assured it will be done in time (here's hoping !)
Also this week the Hammonds concession that has been in store for the last 15 years has closed and is being taken out. We are sad to see the end of such a long trading partnership, but times change. The area is being prepared for a new display of Nolte bedroom furniture, which we are very excited by. Nolte Furniture provide an innovative and high quality range of wardrobes and chests, with a wide selection of options, from traditional ranges to more funky contemporary styles. The new display is going to look fantastic.
The 'new' showroom areas will provide a showcase for our most exciting products, and our warehouse boys are itching to bring out the new displays, including sofas by Wade, the famous Long Eaton upholsterers (a particular favourite of mine). We will cover the windows today and begin our 'under wraps' preparations for the big day. I hope to see you then.
